高電圧・短絡試験研究所建設計画の実施のための贈与に関する昭和六十二年七月十四日付けの交換公文に基づく平成元年度の贈与の限度額に関する日本国政府とパキスタン回教共和国政府との間の交換公文

 Islamabad, June 13, 1989
 Sir,
 With reference to the Exchange of Notes dated July 14, 1987 concerning Japanese economic cooperation to be extended with a view to strengthening friendly and cooperative relations between Japan and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, I have the honour to refer to the recent discussins held between the representatives of the Government of Japan and of the Government of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, and to propose on behalf of the Government of Japan, in accordance with paragraph 2 of the abovementioned Exchange of Notes, the following arrangements:
 For the purpose of contributing to the execution of the project for the construction of the High Voltage and Short Circuit Testing Laboratory by the Government of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, the Government of Japan will extend to the Government of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan a grant up to seven hundred and ninety-four million yen (794,000,000) during the period between the date of coming into force of the present arrangements and March 31, 1990, unless the period is extended by mutual agreement between the authorities concerned of the two Governments.
 I have further the honour to propose that this Note and your Note in reply confirming on behalf of the Government of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan the foregoing arrangements shall be regarded as constituting an agreement between the two Governments, which will enter into force on the date of your reply.
 I avail myself of this opportunity to extend to you the assurance of my high consideration.
