Tokyo, May 23, 1989
書簡をもって啓上いたします。本使は、千九百八十四年五月二十五日に東京で署名されたペルナンブコ連邦大学免疫病理学センターに対する技術協力に関するブラジル連邦共和国政府と日本国政府との間の取極に関して両政府の代表者の間で最近行われた討議に言及するとともに、前記の取極は、更に二年間延長されるものとすることを、ブラジル連邦共和国政府に代わって提案する光栄を有します。
Excellency, I have the honour to refer to the recent discussions held between the representatives of the Government of the Federative Republic of Brazil and of the Government of Japan concerning the arrangements between the two Governments on Japanese technical co-operation for the implementation of the Project for the Immunopathology Center of the Federal University of Pernambuco, signed at Tokyo on May 25, 1984, and to propose on behalf of the Government of the Federative Republic of Brazil that the said arrangements will be extended for a further period of two years.
本使は、更に、前記の提案が日本国政府にとって受諾し得るものであるときは、この書簡及び日本国政府による前記の提案の受諾を確認する閣下の返簡が両政府間の合意を構成するものとみなし、その合意が閣下の返簡の日付の日に効力を生ずるものとすることを提案する光栄を有します。
If the above-mentioned proposal is acceptable to the Government of Japan, I have further the honour to propose that this Note and Your Excellency's Note in reply confirming the acceptance by the Government of Japan of the above proposal shall be regarded as constituting an agreement between the two Governments, which will enter into force on the date of Your Excellency's reply.

本大臣は、更に、前記の提案が日本国政府にとって受諾し得るものであることを日本国政府に代わって確認するとともに、閣下の書簡及びこの返簡が両政府間の合意を構成するものとみなし、その合意がこの返簡の日付の日に効力を生ずるものとすることに同意する光栄を有します。
I have further the honour to confirm on behalf of the Government of Japan that the above-mentioned proposal is acceptable to the Government of Japan and to agree that Your Excellency's Note and this Note shall be regarded as constituting an agreement between the two Governments, which will enter into force on the date of this reply.
