Winter sports are a good way to get
out and be active in the great outdoors.
But it's important to consider humans'
effects on the natural environment when
they do those sports. One goal of the
Nagano Games is coexistence with nature,
and many of the facilities to be used for
the events have been designed with this
in mind. Question: The course for the
bobsleigh and luge events was designed to
follow the natural shape of the mountain
beneath it as much as possible. This has
made it a very unusual course. What about
this course sets it apart from other sled
tracks around the world?
- It's extremely steep
- It goes uphill in two places
- Competitors do two laps of the
same course
