23.我々は、朝鮮半島の平和的統一と2000年6月15日の南北共同宣言の精神を引き続き支持することを再度表明する。我々は、南北対話と日朝国交正常化交渉を歓迎する。我々は、また、核不拡散体制に対するコミットメントを改めて表明した。この観点から、我々は、南北間の関連する諸合意と「1994年の合意された枠組み」において想定されているような核兵器のない朝鮮半島の実現をよびかけた。このことは、朝鮮半島及びこの地域全体における平和と安定に貢献することになろう。我々は、北朝鮮に対し、核兵器計画を放棄するとのコミットメントを目に見える形で守るよう求めるとともに、この問題の平和的解決を確保するとの我々のコミットメントを再確認した。

23. We reiterated our continued support for the peaceful reunification of Korea and the spirit of the 15 June 2000 North-South Joint Declaration. We welcomed the inter-Korea dialogue and normalization talks between Japan and the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK). We also reiterated our commitment to the nuclear non-proliferation regime. In this regard, we called for a nuclear weapons-free Korean peninsula, as envisaged by the two Korea's agreements to this effect and the Agreed Framework of 1994, which will contribute to the peace and stability of the peninsula and the region as a whole. In calling upon the DPRK to visibly honor its commitment to give up nuclear weapons programs, we reaffirmed our commitment to ensure a peaceful resolution of this issue.
