All of the uniforms--not just the cloth, but even the buttons and other fasteners--are made of nylon. After the Nagano Games end, the uniforms will be completely melted down, and the nylon will become a range of new products. Recycling one suit in this way saves about 10 liters (2.6 gallons) of oil. There are three types of uniform: one for indoor use, one for outside, and a coat to wear over the suits.
