Talks between Prime Minister Taro Aso and British Prime Minister Gordon Brown

Prime Minister Taro Aso and British Prime Minister Gordon Brown held talks for about 20 minutes from 10:34 a.m. on January 31, 2009 (JST) on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting in Davos, Switzerland (Davos Conference). The summary of the conversation is as follows:
- At the outset, the two leaders briefed each other on the state of their respective economies and economic measures. They then exchanged views on areas that called for further discussion towards the London Summit (Summit on Financial Markets and the World Economy) scheduled for April 2.
- Prime Minister Aso expressed his wish to work closely with Prime Minister Brown, the chairman of the summit. The two leaders agreed to continue to cooperate towards a success of the upcoming London Summit and also to cooperate with the US President Barack Obama.
