President Natsagiyn Bagabandi's visit to Japan

At the invitation of the Japanese Government, President Natsagiin Bagabandi of Mongolia will pay a visit to Japan from May 11 (Monday) to May 15 (Friday),1998. This will be the first time a Mongolian president has paid an official visit to Japan.

Significance of visit to Japan by the President of Mongolia

(1) The upcoming visit by the Mongolian head of state will be the first official visit to Japan, excluding participation in the Enthronement Ceremony of November 1990 and stopovers, and it is hoped that through President Bagabandi's visit, relations between Japan and Mongolia will be developed further.

(2) During his stay in Japan, President Bagabandi will have meetings with representatives of Japan's political, business, and other circles. President Bagabandi also plans to give a speech at a "Keidanren". It is also planned that the President will watch a sumo tournament, as he is looking forward to seeing the wrestling of two wrestlers from Mongolia: Kyokushuzan and Kyokutenho.
