Mr. Cho Jung-pyo, Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of the Republic of Korea, Pays a Courtesy call on Mr. Taro Aso, Minister for Foreign Affairs

  1. On March 13, Mr. Cho Jung-pyo, Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of the ROK, paid a courtesy call on Mr. Taro Aso, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan, for about 20 minutes from 5:25 p.m.
  2. Taking particular notice of the fact that an increasing number of young people in Japan and the ROK have now something in common such as movies, fashion and manga, Mr. Aso and Mr. Cho shared the expectation that this favorable trend would lead future-oriented bilateral relations to further development.
  3. As to North Korean issues, Mr. Aso and Mr. Cho shared the recognition that good cooperation between Japan and the ROK was one of the factors that gave birth to the agreement at the last Six-party talks, and they confirmed that they would promote Japan-ROK and Japan-U.S.-ROK cooperation in relation to the North Korean issues.
