● The Rapid assessment was carried out in 30 public health facilities (HOSPITALS, MCHs, MCH/OPDs, OPDs.) in four regions of Central South of Somalia, namely Benadir, Bay, lower Shabelle and Galgadud regions
● RH procurement was finalized and supplies already arrived in Mogadishu in December 2009 and distribution plan already in place. 500 hygiene kits were distributed in three IDP settlements in Mogadishu
● 30 Health care providers were trained on BEMOC in Mogadishu. 30 Health personnel were trained in Mogadishu on Medical Management of SGBV Survivors
● Advocacy workshop on SGBV prevention was conducted for 30 community members, Religious leaders, Parliamentarians, government officials and traditional leaders. Advocacy workshop on Psychosocial and counseling was conducted for 30 SGBV survivors in Mogadishu. Education awareness workshop on HIV/AIDs and STI prevention was conducted for 70 people, including school girls and boys, religious leaders, youth and women groups
● Obstetric Fistula repairing has been completed for a total of 60 fistula patients in Mogadishu, with collaboration of Local NGOs and technical support of AMISOM doctors.A Radio programme was going on for the sensitization of the public and aired message related this programme through local radios in Mogadishu. Also, two Somali Doctors, two midwives, two theater nurses and two ward nurses have been provided training in fistula repairing during the project. Also fistula patients together with their spouses were provided counseling.
