(1) Host communities livelihood project (Somalia, Ethiopia)

- Public secondary school rehabilitation. 200 vulnerable students out of 800 students do not pay school fees. Those are mainly migrants, and tsunami affected families. With the rehabilitation, the capacity of school increased and app. 100 more students enrolled. (Somalia)
- App. 2,000 people benefit from solar powered street lighting in IDP resettlement area managed by community council including small shops and business. (Somalia)
- 128 Soil contour bunds and 6 Run-off water catchments with diversion canals, 9 earth dams de-silted, and 34 latrines constructed/rehabilitated. (Somalia)
- More than 150 temporary local employments created through construction/rehabilitation projects.(Somalia)
- 3 Grazing reserves with community based management established.(Somalia)
- App 20 Capacity building trainings in 3 districts conducted on sustainable utilization of the natural resource & soil conservation.(Somalia)

(2) Counter trafficking (Somalia, Yemen, Ethiopia)

- 2 Rapid Assessments conducted (Somalia)
- 2 National Counter-Trafficking Taskforce (CTTF) and 2 Counter Trafficking Network (CTNW) formed in Puntland and Somaliland and received intensive trainings. (Somalia)
- 1 Training Module ‘Counter Trafficking in accordance with Sharia Law’ produced in consultation with Protection Project, Johns Hopkins University. (Somalia)
- 1 Trafficking Situation research carried out and evidences of Trafficking in Person confirmed (Somalia)
- 2 Counter-Trafficking Center build adjunct to the Immigration Office at the border b/w Somaliland and Ethiopia and b/w Somaliland and Djibouti. Community Advisory Boards established in the host communities. (Somalia)
- 40 billboards informing the danger and risks of being trafficking erected. 20,000 pieces of written materials (posters and stickers) distributed (Somalia)
- 40 consultation meetings/public forums held to sensitize communities about the problem of trafficking. App. 2,000 participated. (Somalia)

- 9 Victims of Trafficking refereed, 8 identified and provided emergency medical assistance, 7 received direct assistance and integration assistance. (Somalia)

(3) Mixed Migration Activities (Somalia)

- Awareness-raising Somali radio program broadcasted in Somalia, Ethiopia, Kenya, Djibouti and Yemen
- App. 40 Community meetingswith host and migrant communities and their leaders to protect migrants’ rights (app. 1,300 participants)
- SMS messages sent to 500,000 mobile phone subscribers, posters and t-shirts distributed throughout informal settlements
- App. 300 Traditional leaders trained in migrant issues and protection and held their communities meetings (population of areas covered = app. 600,000)
- App. 15 Secondary schools (app. 2,600 students) viewed video presentation on risks of migration and took part in facilitated discussions
- Live performance of a play performed twice, and recordings shown over 6 weeks to a further app. 2,600 people
- App. 250 local authorities trained in Migrants rights and protection (population of areas covered= app. 114,000)
- Migration Response Centers established
