Egypt: Cairo Center for Conflict Prevention and Peacekeeping Activities (CCCPA)
The CCCPA, funded by the Government of Japan, organized eight training workshops and seminars for participants from African countries, ranging from high-ranking military officers, diplomats, police officers, women and members of civil society on the multiple dimensions of peacekeeping and conflict prevention. The CCCPA was also active in building partnerships with African centers and with international partners. The CCCPA has begun upgrading the infrastructure of the Cairo Center. It has recruited members of the Project Management Unit and the training of trainers for a multi-dimensional training task force to further strengthen the internal capacities of the center slated to soon become a regional center of excellence on conflict prevention and peacekeeping.
