ATTENTION

In accordance with the New Border Measures (34)(PDF) dated September 22, 2022, starting from 0:00 am (JST) on October 11, 2022, foreign nationals who apply for new entry into Japan prescribed applications in the Entrants, Returnees Follow-up System (ERFS) completed by the receiving organizations located in Japan will no longer be required for new entry of foreign nationals into Japan.

In addition, the measures which limits the new entry of foreign tourists to a package tour have been lifted.

Visa exemption arrangements have also been resumed.

Furthermore, the validity of single- entry visa and multiple- entry visa which had been issued by Embassies, Consulate-Generals and Consulates of Japan in all countries/regions by December 2, 2021, has been resumed from 0:00 am (JST) on October 11, 2022.

Short-Term Stay

(A stay of up to 90 days for tourism, business, visiting friends or relatives, etc. that does not include remunerative activities)
