| Will the Nagano Games
have any official songs?
NAOC--known formally as the Organizing
Committee for the XVIII Olympic Winter
Games, Nagano 1998--has commissioned a
number of popular musicians to write
songs for the Nagano Games. The
"image song" is
"Share," written and sung by
pop star Anri, while the Games'
"message song" is
"Dream," performed by
singer-songwriter Masashi Sada.
The "support song" to cheer
on Olympic volunteers is "Gin-iro no
yume" (Silver Dreams--All Over the
World) written and performed by the pop
group DEEN. The Snowlets--the owl-like
mascots of the Nagano Games--have their
own song as well, called "Ile
Aiye."
There is also an official song for
the Nagano Olympic Festival of Culture
and Art that is being held in various
locations along with the 1998 Games. All
these songs will no doubt be heard at
various events throughout the Games.
