Congratulating the
Olympic Champs: Something to Remember!
(February 26)
I was one of the lucky kids chosen to
give flowers to the winners of the Nordic
combined team event at the Snow Harp
cross-country course. On February 20, I
handed a bouquet to Bjarte Vik of Norway
after his team took the gold medal in the
event. I was really excited, but nervous,
too. I just wanted to hurry up and give
him the flowers!
When we did get up to the athletes to
give them the bouquets, they were very
kind. They shook our hands, and they even
greeted us in European fashion, placing
their cheeks against ours. I was happy
just to be giving them the flowers, so
the whole experience was really special.
I'll never have another one like it! It
was a very happy moment for me. I still
get excited thinking about it. (Report
