Police Officers from
Around Japan Patrol Nagano's Streets
(February 13)
During the Nagano Games, police officers
from around the country are patrolling
the streets in yellow and light-blue
uniforms. At the temple Zenkoji in the
heart of Nagano City, were policemen from
Hyogo Prefecture. (Hyogo is really far
from Nagano, located hundreds of
kilometers away.)
The officers said there were about
200 policemen from Hyogo, and many more
from other prefectures. It's thanks to
the cooperation of out-of-town police
departments that security is being
maintained at the Nagano Games.
The officers from Hyogo said they'll
be on duty until the same time the
following day. They may not stand out
that much, but they're playing a very
important role.
