1988.10.18   Aichi Prefecture, Chubu region's business world presented the idea of hosting a world exposition on 2005
1995.12.19   Cabinet approval for the hosting a world exposition in Aichi Prefecture
1996. 4.18   The Japanese government applied to the BIE (International Bureau of Exhibitions) to host the World Exposition on 2005 in Aichi, Japan
1997.6.12   The 21st General Assembly of the BIE.
After the vote, BIE decided 2005 World Exposition in Aichi, Japan
1997.10.23   Japan Association for the 2005 World Exposition was established
2000.12.15   2005 World Exposition, Aichi was registered to BIE at the 28th General Assembly of BIE
2001.3-   Official invitation for participation extended to foreign governments and international organizations
2002.10.12   Mr. Taizo Watanabe was appointed as Commissioner General of the Exhibition
