EXPO 2005 AICHI JAPAN QUICK GUIDE OF THE EXPO SITE

EXPO SITE
We have two sites for EXPO 2005, NAGAKUTE AREA and SETO AREA. These two sites are connected by GONDOLAS and SHUTTLE BUSES.

SETO AREA (Approx. 15ha.)
SETO AREA is located within "SATOYAMA" area and it will introduce SATOYAMA Culture which is a good example of people living in harmony with nature in a traditional Japanese way. It includes two main pavilions GOVERNMENT PAVILION (tentative name), AICHI PAVILION and SATOYAMA TRAIL ZONE where visitors can explore old kilns for famous SETO-ceramics.

NAGAKUTE AREA (Approx. 158ha.)
NAGAKUTE AREA is the main site of EXPO 2005.
It consists of CENTRAL ZONE, GLOBAL COMMONS, CORPORATE PAVILION ZONE and INTERACTIVE FUN ZONE (check the map).
ENTERANCE
There are two ways to enter the EXPO site. One is the North Gate, which is connected to LINIMO (Japanese first maglev linear motor car system) station. The other is the West Gate. Most tour buses will arrive at the West gate.

CENTRAL ZONE
CENTRAL ZONE is at the center of the EXPO. Within Central Zone is GLOBAL HOUSE, EXPO PLAZA and a KOI-POND
 
  • GLOBAL HOUSE
    GLOBAL HOUSE is the symbol pavilion of EXPO 2005. The theme is "Knowing and loving - The Story of Our Earth". There will be a 2005-inch ultra-wide seamless screen on which we can enjoy hi-definition images. And, we can discover World treasures gathered from around the World in GLOBAL HOUSE.

  • EXPO PLAZA
    EXPO PLAZA is an open area for people to experience communication and exchange events.

  • KOI-POND
    Every evening, you can enjoy a fantasy world created by the world-famous artist Mr. Robert Wilson.
GLOBAL COMMON
There are 6 areas that make up CLOBAL COMMON. The Commons are connected by a barrier-free walkway called the GLOBAL LOOP. Visitors can enjoy tours to the pavilions all around the world in about one hour. Please check the map!
