Visit to Japan by H.E. Sheikh Dr. Mohammad Sabah Al-Salem Al-Sabah, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Kuwait

- H.E. Sheikh Dr. Mohammad Sabah Al-Salem Al-Sabah, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Kuwait, will visit Japan from June 2 (Wed) to 3 (Thu) as a guest of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
- During his visit, Deputy Prime Minister Mohammad will participate in the first Joint Committee between the Government of Japan and the Government of the State of Kuwait and attend a dinner hosted by Foreign Minister Katsuya Okada. He will also pay a courtesy call on Prime Minister Yukio Hatoyama.
- It is expected that Deputy Prime Minister Mohammad's visit to Japan will lead to the development of the multi-layered relationship in various fields not limited to oil between Japan and Kuwait, which is the fifth largest provider of oil to Japan.
This is the first visit of Deputy Prime Minister to Japan in six years, since he accompanied the then-Prime Minister Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah (the present Emir of Kuwait) to Japan in 2004.
