Visit to Japan by H.E. Mr. Viktor Borisovich Khristenko, Minister of Industry and Trade, the Russian Federation, and the Meeting of the Co-chairs of the Japan-Russia Intergovernmental Committee on Trade and Economic Issues

H.E. Mr. Viktor Borisovich Khristenko, Minister of Industry and Trade, the Russian Federation, will visit Japan from April 27 (Tue) to 29 (Thu). He is scheduled to attend the Meeting of the Co-chairs of the Japan-Russia Intergovernmental Committee on Trade and Economic issues to be held in Tokyo at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on April 27.
The Japan-Russia Intergovernmental Committee on Trade and Economic issues provides a stage for the comprehensive exchange of opinions regarding all issues pertaining to Japan-Russia economic relations on a ministerial level. This meeting is the continuation of the Meeting of the Co-chairs of the Japan-Russia Intergovernmental Committee on Trade and Economic issues that was held during the visit to Russia of Mr. Katsuya Okada, Minister for Foreign Affairs, at the end of December 2009. Discussions are planned to focus on Japan-Russia cooperation in Eastern Siberia and Far East Russia as well as the improvement of the trade and investment environment in Russia.
During his stay in Japan, Minister Khristenko is also scheduled to hold exchanges of opinions with other individuals including persons affiliated with Japanese businesses.
