Celebration Ceremony of the Japanese-Turkish Friendship

- The Celebration Ceremony of the Japanese-Turkish Friendship will be held on May 3 (Mon) in Istanbul as the main event of Japan Year 2010 in Turkey (hereinafter referred to as “Japan Year 2010”), an event celebrating 120 years of friendship between Japan and Turkey, and will be hosted by the Japan Year 2010 in Turkey Committee (Chairman: Fujio Cho, Chairman of The Board of Toyota Motor Corporation).
- His Imperial Highness Prince Tomohito of Mikasa, Honorary President of Japan Year 2010, will attend the Ceremony. H.E. Mr. Abdullah Gul, President of the Republic of Turkey and Honorary President for the Turkish side of Japan Year 2010, will also attend, along with representatives from a variety of public and private sectors.
- The ceremony will include a Japanese drum performance by WARAIKO Project “A,” a concert by an opera singer, Ms. Michie Nakamaru, and a fashion show organized by Ms. Hanae Mori. It is expected that the ceremony will be a meaningful opportunity to celebrate 120 years of friendship between Japan and Turkey.
