Attendance by Mr. Tetsuro Fukuyama, State Secretary for Foreign Affairs, at the Boao Forum for Asia

- Mr. Tetsuro Fukuyama, State Secretary for Foreign Affairs, will be attending the 9th Annual Conference of the Boao Forum for Asia to be held at Hainan Island, the People’s Republic of China, from April 9 (Fri) to 11 (Sun).
- The main theme of the Conference will be “Green Recovery: Asia's Realistic Choice for Sustainable Growth”. There will be discussions with emphasis on aspects such as green growth and low-carbon society in order to realize sustainable economic growth in Asia and the rest of the world.
- In its new growth strategy, Japan is focusing on green innovation and is placing priority on Asia, as well as on the environment and energy. At this Forum, State Secretary Fukuyama is planning to send out message regarding Japan’s position and its contribution to the Asian and world economies. He will also take this opportunity to hold exchanges of views with important persons from other countries, including China, that will be attending this Conference.

The Boao Forum for Asia is a non-government and nonprofit international organization that aims to provide a platform for people in political, business and academic circles in Asia to meet together and engage in a free exchange of opinions on the strengthening of cooperative relations in economic areas within the region as well as between Asia and other regions. Annual Conferences are held in April every year.
