Visit to Japan by H.E. Mr. Yves Leterme, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Belgium, and H.E. Mr. Steven Vanackere, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belgium

- H.E. Mr. Yves Leterme, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Belgium, and H.E. Mr. Steven Vanackere, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belgium, will visit Japan from April 7 (Wed) to 10 (Sat).
- During his stay in Japan, Prime Minister Leterme will hold an exchange of opinions with Mr. Yukio Hatoyama, Prime Minister of Japan, on topics including economic relations and European Union (EU) affairs. He is also scheduled to hold meetings with Japanese corporations in Tokyo and Osaka.
- During his stay in Japan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Vanackere will hold a foreign ministerial meeting with Mr. Katsuya Okada, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan, to exchange views on topics including bilateral relations between the two countries, as well as international challenges including climate change, disarmament and non-proliferation. He is also scheduled to hold meetings with Japanese corporations in Tokyo and Nagoya.
- It is expected that the visit by Prime Minister Leterme and Deputy Prime Minister Vanackere will further strengthen the friendly relations between the two countries.
