Visit to Japan by Dr. Hasan Mahmud, Special Envoy to the Prime Minister of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh

- Dr. Mahmud, Special Envoy to the Prime Minister of the People’s Republic
of Bangladesh (State Minister for Foreign Affairs) will visit Japan
from June 8 (Mon) to 11 (Thu).
- During his visit, Dr. Mahmud will pay a courtesy call on Prime Minister
Taro Aso and have meetings with State Secretary for Foreign Affairs, Ms.
Seiko Hashimoto and Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs, Mr.
Nobuhide Minorikawa, and the executive members of the Japan-Bangladesh Parliamentarians’
League, to exchange views on the bilateral relationship between Japan
and Bangladesh.
- Dr Mahmud’s visit to Japan represents the first visit by Bangladeshi senior officials to Japan since the new Bangladeshi government was established in January 2009. It is expected that his visit will further promote bilateral relations between Japan and Bangladesh.
