Commemorative Ceremony of Japan-Brazil Exchange Year/100th Anniversary of Japanese Immigration to Brazil

  1. On April 24 (Thu), a commemorative ceremony of the Japan-Brazil Exchange Year/100th Anniversary of Japanese Immigration to Brazil will be held under the auspices of the Government of Japan at the Heian Hall, Hotel Okura, Tokyo, from 16:30.
     
  2. The ceremony will be attended by Their Majesties the Emperor and Empress, H. I. H. the Crown Prince, Mr. Yasuo Fukuda, Prime Minister of Japan, Mr. Yohei Kono, Speaker of the House of Representatives, Mr. Satsuki Eda, President of the House of Councillors, Mr. Niro Shimada, Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, Mr. Taro Aso, Honorary Chairman of the Executive Committee for the Japan-Brazil Exchange Year, Ms. Dilma Rousseff, Chief-Minister of the Presidential Staff Office as Representative of the Government of Brazil, Mr. Kokei Uehara, Chairman of the Association of the 100th Anniversary of Japanese Immigration to Brazil, members of the Diet and Congress of the two countries, members of the Executive Committee for the Japan-Brazil Exchange Year, groups concerned with Brazilians living in Japan and Japanese descendants (Nikkei) in Brazil, and officials from local governments.
