Visit to Japan by the Rt Hon Lord Malloch-Brown, Minister for Africa, Asia and the UN at the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland

The Rt Hon Lord Mark Malloch-Brown, Minister for Africa, Asia and the UN at the Foreign and Commonwealth Office of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, will visit Japan from 17 to 19 January, 2008.

During his stay in Japan, Lord Malloch-Brown will make a courtesy call on Mr. Masahiko Koumura, Minister for Foreign Affairs, give a lecture at Waseda University, and attend an opening event of “UK-Japan 2008.”

The year 2008 marks the 150th anniversary of Japan-UK diplomatic relations. It is expected to further strengthen the cooperative relations between the both countries through this exchange which will be the first UK's Ministeral visit to Japan in this year.
