Dispatch of Japanese Youth Representatives for the Japan-China-ROK Youth Exchange Program
August 15, 2007
- From August 16 (Thu) to 22 (Wed), about 80 young Japanese will visit
Beijing and Tianjin to participate in a Japan-China-ROK Youth Exchange
Program, the Japan-China-ROK Youth Friendly Meeting.
- This exchange program was proposed by Mr. Wen Jiabao, Premier of the
State Council of the People's Republic of China, at the Summit Meeting of
the leaders of the People’s Republic of China, Japan and the Republic of
Korea (ROK) held in Cebu, Philippines, in January this year. The leaders
of Japan and the ROK agreed to Mr. Wen’s proposal.
- During their stay in China, the group of young Japanese will attend an exchange program, visit historical places, and take part in volunteer work such as cleaning parks together with their counterparts from China and the ROK (about 100 youths from each country). The joint activities are expected to deepen mutual understanding and promote friendship.
