Mr. Masakazu Sekiguchi, Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs, to Visit the Russian Far East

- Mr. Masakazu Sekiguchi, Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs,
will visit the maritime region of the Russian Far East from August 1 (Wed)
to August 3 (Fri).
- Mr. Sekiguchi will attend the contract-signing ceremony for a project to dismantle the second, third and fourth nuclear submarines out of five submarines (all of which are Victor III class) whose dismantlement was agreed upon in November two years ago as part of the “Star of Hope” program, a project for the dismantlement of decommissioned nuclear submarines in the Russian Far East. Mr. Sekiguchi will also visit the sites where dismantlement will take place and other related facilities and will exchange views with those concerned, including local government VIPs, on future cooperation.
