Mr. Takeshi Iwaya, Senior Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs, to Visit Italy

- Mr. Takeshi Iwaya, Senior Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs, will visit Italy from July 1 (Sun) to 3 (Tue) (returning to Japan on July 4).
- On July 3, Mr. Iwaya, representing the Government of Japan, will attend the international conference on the Rule of Law in Afghanistan jointly hosted by the Government of Italy, the Government of Afghanistan and the United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan. In this conference, the participants will lay down a strategy to promote reforms in the field of justice in Afghanistan and discuss a support mechanism for the reforms.
- Mr. Iwaya will also exchange opinions with key officials of the Government of Afghanistan on the situation in Afghanistan and talk with the key officials of the Government of Italy.
