Visit to Japan by Hon. Rohitha Bogollagama, MP, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka

- Hon. Rohitha Bogollagama, MP, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka, will visit Japan at the invitation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs from June 26 (Tue) to 29 (Fri).
- During his visit, Hon. Bogollagama will meet with officials concerned in the Government of Japan including Mr. Taro Aso, Minister for Foreign Affairs, Mr. Hosei Norota, President of the Japan-Sri Lanka Parliamentarians’ Friendship League (Member of the House of Representatives), Mr. Yasuo Fukuda, President of the Japan-Sri Lanka Association (Member of the House of Representatives) to exchange views on the current situation in Sri Lanka including bilateral relations and the peace process in Sri Lanka. Hon. Bogollagama will also attend a lecture meeting held by the Japan Institute of International Affairs, and a round-table conference with NGOs (Non-governmental Organizations).
- This is Hon. Bogollagama’s first visit to Japan since taking office as Minister of Foreign Affairs in January 2007. It is expected that his visit will further improve bilateral relations between the two countries.
