Visit to Japan by President Jagdeo of the Republic of Guyana

1.   H.E. Mr. Bharrat Jagdeo, President of the Republic of Guyana, will pay a working visit to Japan from June 24 (Sun) to 27 (Wed).

2.   Prime Minister Shinzo Abe will meet with President Jagdeo to discuss wide-ranging matters including Japan-Guyana relations, environment and climate change issues, cooperation in the international arena.  The President will also give a lecture at the United Nations University as well as visit sites of interest in Tokyo.

3.   This year marks the 40th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Japan and Guyana.  It is expected that President Jagdeo's visit to Japan in such a memorable year will bring about further development of bilateral relations.
