Japan-India High Level Policy Consultations on Economic Development

- The First Japan-India High Level Policy Consultations on Economic Development will be held on June 15 (Fri) at the Ministry of Finance of India in New Delhi, India.
- The Consultations will be led on the Japanese side by Mr. Koro Bessho, Director-General, International Cooperation Bureau, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, joined with other officials concerned from the said Ministry, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, and other organizations; and on the Indian side by Mr. Kumar Sanjay Krishna, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Finance, with other concerned officials.
- At the Consultations, there will be discussions on India’s development policy and Japan’s overall policy on economic cooperation for India, from a mid-term perspective, taking account of recent Japan-India closer relations and the Eleventh Five Year Plan of India currently being formulated. Both sides will aim to adjust policies on such matters as future priority for Japan’s assistance to India. There will also be an exchange of views on both foreign aid policies.
