Visit to Japan by Mr. Juan Evo Morales Ayma, President of the Republic of Bolivia

- Mr. Juan Evo Morales Ayma, President of the Republic of Bolivia, will pay a working visit to Japan from March 5 (Mon) to 8 (Thu), 2007.
- During his stay in Japan, Mr. Morales will meet with Mr. Shinzo Abe, Prime Minister of Japan, and Mr. Taro Aso, Minister for Foreign Affairs, and other important figures to exchange views on wide-ranging issues, including the strengthening of Japan-Bolivia bilateral relations and cooperation in the international arena.
- Japan and Bolivia have a traditionally friendly relationship through about 14,000 Japanese immigrants to Bolivia, their Japanese descendents, and official economic assistance from Japan. It is expected that Mr. Morales' visit to Japan will further enhance the friendly relations between the two countries.
