Visit to Japan by Mr. Victor Gorchakov, Chairman of the Legislative Assembly of Primorsky Territory, Russian Federation

- Mr. Victor Gorchakov, Chairman of the Legislative Assembly of Primorsky
territory, Russian Federation, will visit Japan from October 14 (Sun) to
21 (Sun), at the invitation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
- During his stay, Mr. Gorchakov will exchange views with those concerned
in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs; Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports,
Science and Technology; Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry; and Ministry
of Land, Infrastructure and Transport and also visit gulf facilities and
a public library. In addition, he will meet with members of the Diet
as well as visit Shimane Prefecture and exchange views with its governor
and the chairman of its prefectural parliament.
- Mr. Gorchakov’s visit to Japan enables us to exchange views with him to give more concrete shape to the “Initiative for the Strengthening Japan-Russia cooperation in the Far East Russia and Eastern Siberia,” which Japan proposed at the Heligendammn Summit in June this year, and realize the “Promotion of Exchanges between Regions of Japan and Russia,” one of the items in the Initiative.
