Visit to Japan by Hon. Massimo D' Alema, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Italian Republic

  1. Hon. Massimo D'Alema, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Italian Republic, will visit Japan from 31 January (Wed) to 4 February (Sun).
  2. During his stay, Mr. D'Alema will meet Mr. Taro Aso, Minister for Foreign Affairs, to exchange views on bilateral relations and international issues. He will also pay a courtesy call on Mr. Yohei Kono, Speaker of the House of Representatives, and Ms. Chikage Oogi, President of the House of Councillors.
  3. Mr. D'Alema's visit to Japan also aims at introducing a large-scale promotion project called "PRIMAVERA ITALIANA 2007" which will be held from March to June 2007 all over Japan.
  4. His visit is expected to further develop friendly relations between Japan and Italy.
