Visit to Japan of Ms. Tzipi Livni, Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Israel

  1. Ms. Tzipi Livni, Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Israel, will visit Japan from January 17 (Wed) to 18 (Thu) at the invitation of the Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan.
  2. During her visit, Ms. Livni will have a meeting with Mr. Taro Aso, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan, and pay a courtesy call on Mr. Shinzo Abe, Prime Minister of Japan, to exchange views on bilateral relations as well as regional issues including the Middle East peace process.
  3. This will be the first visit to Japan by an Israeli Foreign Minister since Mr. Silvan Zion Shalom, then Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, visited Japan in August 2003.
