The Tenth Japan-Central America Forum for Dialogue and Cooperation

- The Tenth Japan-Central America Forum for Dialogue and Cooperation will take place on June 15 (Thu) at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Tokyo.
- From Japan, Mr. Mitsuo Sakaba, Director-General of the Latin American and Caribbean Affairs Bureau, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and other representatives concerned will participate in the forum. From Central America, Secretary General of the Central American Integration System (SICA), and vice-foreign-minister-level officials of the following countries will attend: Belize, Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica and Panama (SICA member countries) and the Dominican Republic (SICA associate member country).
- The Japan-Central America Summit Meeting held in August last year in Tokyo adopted the Tokyo Declaration and the Action Plan. The forum will follow up these documents and will have exchanges of views between Japan and Central America in wide-ranging areas including political and economic relations, economic cooperation and cooperation in the international arena. In particular, the forum will discuss how to proceed with the Japan-Central America Business Forum to be held in September in El Salvador.
- The forum is the annual vice-ministerial consultations between Japan and Central American countries which have been conducted since 1995.
