The Fourth Meeting of the Japan-India Joint Study Group

- The Fourth Meeting of the Japan-India Joint Study Group will take place on June 6 (Tue) and 7 (Wed) in Tokyo.
- The meeting will be attended on the Japanese side by Mr. Mitoji Yabunaka, Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs, and other representatives of academic, business, and government circles, and on the Indian side by Mr. Ashok K. Jha, Secretary, Ministry of Finance, and other relevant officials of industry, educational institutions and the administration.
- Based on the agreement reached between Japan and India, when Mr. Taro Aso, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan, visited India in January, that the two countries would seriously consider the possibility of an economic cooperation agreement, the meeting will have consultations on cooperation in such areas as trade in goods and services, investment and ODA, other areas of economic cooperation, liberalized and upgraded framework for India-Japan economic partnership, and will work on the text of the report.
