The First Meeting of Japanese Executive Committee for Japan-India Friendship and Exchange Year

1. The First Meeting of Japanese Executive Committee for the Japan-India Friendship and Exchange Year will be held on June 1 (Thu) at Mita House.
2. Attending the meeting will be Mr. Nobuo Ohashi, Chairman of the Japan-India Business Cooperation Committee (Chairman of Mitsui & Co. Ltd.), Mr. Eijiro Noda, Special Assistant to the Minister for Foreign Affairs (former Japanese Ambassador to India), Mr. Tomohiko Taniguchi, Deputy Press Secretary/Deputy Director-General for Press and Public Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, representatives of corporate members of the Japan-India Business Cooperation Committee, nonprofit organizations, other institutions and intellectuals.
3. The Executive Committee will decide on the basic policies of Japanese projects for the Japan-India Friendship and Exchange Year (the Year of Japan in India 2007), coordinate various projects, accredit projects of Friendship and Exchange Year which comply with its aims, and conduct public relations and other activities.
