The Second Japan-Philippine Political and Security Consultation

- On April 28 (Fri), the Second Japan-Philippine Political and Security Consultation will be held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
- For the Japanese side, Mr. Toshihisa Takata, Deputy Director-General, Asian and Oceanian Affairs Bureau, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and senior officials concerned from the Ministry and the Defense Agency; and for the Philippine side, Mr. Romeo Manalo, Assistant Secretary of Asian and Pacific Affairs of Department of Foreign Affairs, and top officials involved from the Department and the Department of National Defense will attend the Consultation.
- At the Consultation, the views on security policies of both countries, the regional situation, bilateral cooperation in counter-terrorism measures and disaster prevention will be exchanged.
- This year marks the 50th anniversary of diplomatic normalization between Japan and the Philippines, thus expected that the relations between the two countries will develop in various areas including the areas discussed at the Consultation.
