Twelfth Round of the Director-General-Level Cultural Consultations between Japan and the Republic of Korea

  1. The Twelfth Round of the Director-General-Level Cultural Consultations between Japan and the Republic of Korea will take place on February 8 (Wed) in Seoul (Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade).
  2. The Consultations will be attended on the Japanese side by Mr. Masaki Okada, Director-General, Public Diplomacy Department, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as head of delegation, and other officials of relevant organizations including the Ministry of Foreign Affairs; Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology; Agency for Cultural Affairs; Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications; the Japan Foundation; and the Japan-Korea Cultural Foundation; and on the R.O.K. side by Mr. Koo Bon-Woo, Director-General, Cultural Affairs Bureau, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, as head of delegation, and other officials of relevant organizations including the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade; Ministry of Culture and Tourism; Ministry of Educational and Human Resources; and the Korea Foundation.
  3. The Consultations will feature an exchange of views on the evaluation of Japan-R.O.K. cultural exchange in recent years and its future outlook in terms of the mid- and long-term policy perspective, and also, in light of the accomplishments of the Japan-Korea Friendship Year 2005, on the modality of cooperation for keeping momentum for active interchange alive between the two countries, and on such agenda items as personal exchanges.
