The 3rd Japan-ROK Meeting concerning the Issue of the Remains of Former Military Personnel, Civilian Employees and Others

- The 3rd Japan-ROK Meeting concerning the Issue of the Remains of Former Military Personnel, Civilian Employees and Others will be held from November 28 (Mon) to 29 (Tue) in Seoul (Ministry of Foreign Affairs & Trade).
- The forthcoming Meeting will be attended on the Japanese side by Mr. Kunio Umeda, Deputy Director-General, Asian and Oceanian Affairs Bureau, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as head of the delegation, and officials concerned from the Cabinet Secretariat, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare, and the Agency of Cultural Affairs; and on the ROK side by Mr. Choi Bong Tae, Secretary General of the Truth Commission on Forced Mobilization under the Japanese Imperialism, as head of the delegation, and officials concerned from the Commission, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs & Trade, and other organizations.
- At the Meeting, there will be discussions on, among other matters, the issue of the return of the remains of both military and civilian personnel from the Korean Peninsula, which are still placed in Yutenji Temple and how to carry out site investigation of the remains of commandeered civilians.
