Dr. Tatsuo Arima, Special Envoy of the Government of Japan, to Attend the State Memorial Ceremony for the 10th Anniversary of the Demise of Mr. Yitzhak Rabin, Late Prime Minister of Israel

  1. The Government of Japan has decided to dispatch Dr. Tatsuo Arima, Special Envoy of the Government of Japan, to attend the State Memorial ceremony for the 10th anniversary of the demise of Mr. Yitzhak Rabin, late Prime Minister of Israel, to be held in Israel on November 14 (Mon).
  2. As this year marks the 10th anniversary since Mr. Rabin was assassinated in November 1995, Mr. Ariel Sharon, Prime Minister of Israel, decided to hold a State Memorial ceremony for this occasion, and sent invitation letters to the heads of states and political leaders of about 40 countries. The Government of Japan received a letter from Israeli Prime Minister Sharon, inviting Japanese Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi to attend the ceremony.
