Mr. Ichiro Aisawa, Senior Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs, to Visit Iran, Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan

- Mr. Ichiro Aisawa, Senior Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs, will visit the Islamic Republic of Iran, the Republic of Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan from January 10 (Mon) to 19 (Wed).
- In Iran, Mr. Aisawa will exchange views with leaders of the government on such matters as the Iraqi situation, Iran's nuclear issue, and bilateral relations in general.
- In Azerbaijan, Mr. Aisawa will exchange views with leaders of the government on such matters as bilateral relations in general including energy issues and the situation in the Caucasus region.
- In Turkmenistan, Mr. Aisawa will attend the reception for the opening of the Japanese Embassy in Turkmenistan, which was established in January 1 this year, and meet with leaders of the government to exchange views on how to promote bilateral relations, the situation in the Central Asia, and other issues.
