Mr. Nobutaka Machimura, Minister for Foreign Affairs, to Visit the United States of America and Vietnam

1. Mr. Nobutaka Machimura, Minister for Foreign Affairs, will visit U.S.A. (Washington, D.C.) and Vietnam (Hanoi) from October 6 (Wed) to 10 (Sun).
   
   
2. During his stay in the U.S., Mr. Machimura will meet with Mr. Colin Powell, Secretary of State, and Ms. Condoleezza Rice, Assistant to the President for National Security Affairs, to exchange views on issues such as Japan-U.S. relations.
   
   
3. During his stay in Vietnam, Mr. Machimura will have bilateral talks with foreign ministers attending the Fifth Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM) held in Hanoi.
