Ms. Yoriko Kawaguchi, Minister for Foreign Affairs, will visit the Republic of Korea

- Ms. Yoriko Kawaguchi, Minister for Foreign Affairs, will visit the Republic of Korea from July 12 (Fri) to 14 (Sun).
- Minister Kawaguchi will have talks with Mr. Choi Sung-Hong, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of the Republic of Korea, and pay a courtesy call on President Kim Dae-Jung. The Minister is expected to have a frank exchange of views on policy toward North Korea in light of recent events including the skirmish in the Yellow Sea, and reconfirm the importance of maintaining and nourishing the atmosphere of friendship between Japan and the Republic of Korea, which has been mounting since the World Cup.
- Minister Kawaguchi will visit Panmunjom, and in Seoul have an opportunity to hold a frank discussion with Korean students.
