Ms. Yoriko Kawaguchi, Minister for Foreign Affairs, to Attend the Asia Cooperation Dialogue

- Ms. Yoriko Kawaguchi, Minister for Foreign Affairs, will visit Thailand from June 18 (Tue) to 20 (Thu) to attend the Asia Cooperation Dialogue meeting to be held in Cha-Am on June 18 and 19.
- At the meeting, Foreign Minister Kawaguchi will discuss wide-ranging subjects with ministers from participating countries, under the theme of "How to Consolidate Our Strengths" and in consideration of how to promote interdependence within the region and to increase competitiveness by taking advantage of the potential of Asian countries.
- During her stay in Thailand, Foreign Minister Kawaguchi will also have bilateral talks with Chinese Foreign Minister Tang Jiaxuan, and ministers of other countries.
- The Asia Cooperation Dialogue is being held at the original proposal by His Excellency Mr. Thaksin Chinnawat, Prime Minister, and His Excellency Mr. Surakiat Sathianthai, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Thailand. In addition to the ASEAN countries, ministers from a total of 17 countries including Japan, China and Korea from East Asia; India, Pakistan and Bangladesh from South Asia; and Bahrain and Qatar from the Middle East have been invited to the meeting.
