Visit to Japan by Dr. Abdullah Abdullah, Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Transitional Administration of Afghanistan

  1. Dr. Abdullah Abdullah, Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Transitional Administration of Afghanistan, will visit Japan from October 28 (Mon) to 31 (Thu) as Guest of the Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan.

  2. During his stay in Japan, Dr. Abdullah will exchange views with leaders of the Government of Japan.

  3. The peace and rehabilitation process in Afghanistan could not be promoted without continuous involvement of the international community. Taking the opportunity of Dr. Abdullah's visit, Japan, as the co-chair of the International Conference on Reconstruction Assistance to Afghanistan in January 2002, will convey again to Dr. Abdullah Japan's assistance policy for nation-building in Afghanistan centering on the Transitional Administration, including concrete assistance based on the "Consolidation of Peace in Afghanistan" plan announced by Ms. Kawaguchi in April 2002, elimination of breeding-grounds for terrorism, and the promotion of an overall regional development plan.
