Visit to Bangladesh by Mr. Shin Sakurai, a Member of the House of Councillors as the Special Envoy of Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi

  1. Mr. Shin Sakurai, a Member of the House of Councillors (Vice President of the Japan-Bangladesh Parliamentarians' League), together with Mr. Hirohisa Kurihara, a Member of the House of Representatives (Secretary-General of the Japan-Bangladesh Parliamentarians' League), will make a visit to Bangladesh from 22 to 24 October as the Special Envoy of Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi.

  2. During his stay, Mr. Sakurai will transmit a letter from Prime Minister Koizumi to Prime Minister Zia of Bangladesh, and will hold talks with Prime Minister Zia and other dignitaries of the Government of Bangladesh. Mr. Sakurai will also attend the Commemorative Reception that will be held on 23 October in Dhaka to celebrate the 30th Anniversary of the establishment of Japan- Bangladesh diplomatic relations.
