Visit to India by Former Prime Minister Yoshiro Mori as the Special Envoy of Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi

- Former Prime Minister Yoshiro Mori will make a visit to India from 20 to 22 October as the Special Envoy of Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi.
- During his stay, Mr. Mori will transmit a letter from Prime Minister Koizumi to Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee of India, and will hold talks with Prime Minister Vajpayee and other dignitaries of the Government of India. Mr. Mori will also attend the opening ceremony of "Japan Week" which will be held to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Japan and India.
(Note) Mr. Mori visited India in August 2000 as Prime Minister of Japan, and he and Prime Minister Vajpayee agreed on building the "Global Partnership between Japan and India in the 21st Century." In December 2001, on the occasion of Prime Minister Vajpayee's visit to Japan, Prime Minister Vajpayee and Prime Minister Koizumi issued the Japan-India Joint Declaration, which sets out guidelines for the realization of the above agreement.
