Visit to the People's Republic of China and Mongolia by Senior State Secretary for Foreign Affairs Tetsuma Esaki

- Senior State Secretary for Foreign Affairs Tetsuma Esaki will visit the People's Republic of China (for one night) and Mongolia (two nights) from May 21 (Sun) to 24 (Wed).
- During his visit, Mr. Esaki will meet with leading figures of China and Mongolia to exchange views on matters including bilateral relations and the current situation in the region. In China, Mr. Esaki will meet Foreign Minister Tang Jiaxuan and will also exchange views with his Chinese counterpart (in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs) in the context of ensuring regional peace and stability. In Mongolia, Mr. Esaki will pay a courtesy call on President Natsagiin Bagabandi. This high-level political dialogue, which is the first since July last year when Prime Minister Keizo Obuchi visited Mongolia, is expected to strengthen the friendly and cooperative relationship between the two countries.
